Neighbours
It seems like we don’t spend much time with our neighbours – only 8% of people do so on a regular basis, and 34% of us do not keep in contact with our current neighbours at all.
But that does not mean we’re unfriendly! Almost half (43%) of us have attended an estate, void deck or corridor activity held by a neighbour and the majority (55%) have visited a neighbour’s home.
More importantly, we are happy to lend a helping hand when it counts! Most (83%) are willing to help our neighbours, for example to watch over a child or an elderly for a few hours. There is a Chinese saying, “A close neighbour is better than a distant relative”.
Let’s create a happier and more united Singapore by making friends with our neighbours and helping one another!
