Did you know that there are plenty of things in our daily life that are part of the Smart Nation initiative? For example, introducing contactless fare payment for public transport iin order to eliminate the hassle of topping up EZ-Link cards is one of the steps Singapore is taking towards becoming closer to a Smart Nation.
As such, we did a quick poll and asked how many of you have used your mobile device as an EZ-Link card?
While only 20% use their phones as an EZ-Link card for public transport, it is important to note that there are other cashless payment ways to pay for transport (such as credit/debit cards, near-field communication technology, or mobile bank applications).
The effects of this digital era may not always be revolutionary in the short term. Still, we are confident this number will increase in time to come as Singapore continues to progress towards becoming a Smart Nation!
