The pressure to look good can be overbearing, especially when it’s always airbrushed faces and near-perfect body shapes that we see in the media.

In this month’s Quick Polls,  let’s see what people feel about body image!

With the media reinforcing an ideal standard for physical beauty, it’s not surprising that 7 out of 10 (74%) we polled have felt insecure about their own body image.

While how we feel about ourselves matters, others’ opinions of us can also have an impact on our self-esteem.

About 6 out of 10 (63%) of our respondents say that others have made them feel insecure about their own body image.

Being conscious about our appearance and taking care of our bodies to ensure we look neat and presentable is good practice. However, the danger comes when people go into overdrive, thinking they need to go on crash diets, putting themselves through unnecessary strain or spending a lot of money to get that ‘ideal’ body.

The truth is, a healthy body and mind are what we need to enjoy all that life has to offer. So, don’t be too hard on yourself and start appreciating the beauty that’s uniquely yours! 😊
