Personal fitness goals are at the heart of workout routines in Singapore. Most HappyDotters are motivated by a desire to stay healthy (79%), improve strength or fitness (55%), and manage their weight (45%). Only 10% exercise to socialise, and even fewer (6%) do so following a doctor’s recommendation. This suggests that, rather than feeling external pressure, HappyDotters take exercise as a personal responsibility or hobby.

What Workouts Are Making HappyDotters Sweat?

36% of HappyDotters love to hit the pavement for a run or hitting the gym (22%). If you’re more into cycling (17%), swimming (15%), or ball games like volleyball or football (9%), you’re in good company too. Interestingly, 42% selected ‘Others’, with popular choices including walking, hiking, or going for a brisk stroll.

Solo or Squad: How Do You Like to Exercise?

More than half of HappyDotters (56%) like to go solo exercising at least once a week. Sounds like the perfect “me-time” to blast your favourite playlist during workouts. 17% exercise alone a few times a month, and 27% rarely do so alone. But when it comes to group exercise, 56% say “no thanks” most of the time, while 30% join in at least once a week, and 15% a few times a month.
