Used most often in informal settings, Singlish adds a touch of playfulness and humour to our conversations, allowing camaraderie to be built among those conversing. Finally, because it Incorporates elements from Singapore’s official languages, Singlish allows Singaporeans to express their cultural identity with pride.

76.2% feel that Singlish is still relevant in modern Singapore, an indication that it occupies a special place in the hearts of Singaporeans. Let’s allow it to evolve naturally, and continue using it to add colour and spice to our conversations!
